And the collection keeps growing!

I stopped by my parents to pick up more cross-stitching supplies for my mom and she graciously donated to my Christmas decoration collection! Check it out!

The tablecloth was too small for her table, so now it's mine! And it has sparkly thread sewn in - right up my alley!!

Justin actually got me those flowers on Thursday. We had a "fall themed" bouquet, and he wanted Christmas themed ones!

My mom also gave me these really cute Santa candle holders to go on the table!

Wonderful Sunday

I had a really great Sunday!! And I mean, the best one I've had in a while. But that was mostly because of all the snow!!

My car was COVERED when I took Bailey out for the first time...

There was no one else outside, and Bailey is great off the leash, so I gave him a treat! He had his cute little Orvis sweater on to keep him warm!

Such handsome little man!
After we got inside, he disappeared. Here is where I found him.

Here's the view from the balcony. There used to be mountains there.

Bailey at the dog park! We weren't the only crazy people who went!

Bailey with his favorite thing - a stick!! He will not ever give up a stick!

Here's a good example of what happens when he has a stick!

I worked on some crafts for Christmas presents...

Bailey was apparently tired as I folded my laundry - he clearly had a long day!

Watched some Saturday Night Live On Demand - I am just NOT a fan of Taylor Swift. Yuck.

All in all - it was a great Sunday!! I did everything I wanted, and everything I did, I enjoyed!! Hope you had a great weekend as well!

End of an era...

Just a quick note...

The television show "Monk" on USA had it's series finale tonight. Just so sad. If you've never seen it, download an episode now.

It's heartbreaking that it's ending. What a great show. I can't imagine life without new episodes.

Doing a little decorating...

I haven't lived on my own enough Christmases to get my own decorations, so I'm very limited. But thanks to WalMart and great prices, I was able to add a little touch. After doing a few chores around the apartment, I finally got the chance to be crafty (again!) and decorate the apartment. I still wish I had a more festive home, but it will happen in due time! (And especially at the clearance sales the last week of December!) Check it out!

It snowed for a while last night, and then it's been snowing all day! Currently, I'm sitting at a balmy 9 degrees!
I LOVE SNOW!
(This is out on the balcony)

And this is a cross-stitch I made a few years ago along with a nicely holiday scented Yankee candle!

This is the bookshelf you see right as you enter - the pillow my mom made, the picture is all me, and the doggie is a cute little ornament I found at one of the retail stores at the hotel. It's not specifically a Weimaraner, but it really looks like one!!

Here's the mantle before, with all the materials...

And the mantle AFTER!!! I love all the lights, and glitter, and....YAY!!!

Here's a close-up of one of the ornament balls - here's a hint: they're unbreakable, because they're plastic! Look real, huh?

And me with my creation! Seriously, I took about 12 of these, and this was the best one. Oh well.

And then, of course, all the snow and a nice big mug of hot cocoa. I wish I was Christmas all year round!!

3 years later...and finally grown up?

I felt very grown up today.
I had to walk across property this morning really early to set up for a class. It was quite cold, so I had my pea coat on with a scarf wrapped up nice and tight around my neck. I was proactive and set the automatic coffee maker to start this morning, so I could grab a travel mug and head out the door.
So, I'm carrying my coffee in one hand, checking the news on my BlackBerry in my other hand, meanwhile I've got a laptop in a case draped over my shoulder. Combine all that with my pea cot and scarf and - voila! - I came to the realization that I felt like a professional! I felt like I should have been a guest at the hotel for a conference, and I was on my way to a meeting.

Kind of sad, actually. I've been out of college for 3 years. But - it was still a nice feeling!

And fingers crossed...it will snow tonight for the next 2 days! We'll see.
